Firaxis Games gave players their first look at the gameplay of Civilization VII at Gamescom 2024 and announced its release date: February 11, 2025.
The game’s trailer highlighted both the franchise’s storied history alongside how it captures world history. The first Civilization title released in 1991, and its prior version released eight years ago in 2016.
“Civ VII is by far the biggest, most ambitious game Firaxis has ever made,” said Ed Beach, creative director at Firaxis Games, on stage at Gamescom.
