Ms. Rachel shares a heartfelt song honoring the baby she lost before welcoming her son

Few know how to tug at the heartstrings of parents and kids alike quite like Ms Rachel, who has developed a global fanbase thanks to her soothing, caring videos that viewers of all ages connect with. In her latest Instagram post, the YouTube star is sharing a heartfelt song she penned in honor of her “rainbow baby,” and any parent who has experienced pregnancy loss will relate to her touching words.

Sitting at her piano, Ms. Rachel pays tribute to her son Thomas, now 6, whom she shares with her husband Aron. “Rainbow baby, dream come true. Rainbow baby, if you knew,” she sings. “Every prayer we said for you. Rainbow baby, dream come true.”

“My rainbow baby is not a baby anymore but he’ll always be my rainbow baby. So much love to anyone who understands,” she added in her caption.

Ms. Rachel has previously shared powerful words about her miscarriage, singing part of a poem she wrote about her experience in August 2023. “It wasn’t something small that you lost,” she sang in the video. “It was a world that you lost. You tried not to imagine and hope too much. You tried to catch it ‘cause it has a cost. But love can’t be stopped. Love doesn’t stop.”

In the caption of her post, she addressed anyone who has shared similar loss. “I’m so sorry if you’ve gone through this or are going through this. You’re not alone. This is part of a poem I wrote about how it felt for me.”

Many fellow parents came to the comments section of both posts, praising her for using her platform to “break the silence” on miscarriage and pregnancy loss. “I was just telling my daughter she is my dream come true. She hugged me and said I was hers.” wrote one mama. Another wrote, “Sending you lots of love. I’ve been through a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy. It’s hard. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Lots of hugs.”

Yet another summed it up perfectly, writing, “A rainbow baby will ALWAYS be a rainbow baby.”

Even though up to 26% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and as many as six stillbirths for every 1,000 births in the U.S. alone, it can feel incredibly isolating to lose a child, no matter the circumstances. The trauma can also remain even if you get pregnant again or welcome your own rainbow baby, which is why it’s so lovely that Ms. Rachel is sharing her words to let others know they’re not alone in their grief.
