When I first started our company, the vision was straightforward: to create an online marketplace for buying and selling commercial furniture, similar to platforms like Chairish or 1stDibs. I believed that providing a digital space for second-life contract office furniture would be revolutionary. However, it quickly became clear that our needs went far beyond just a marketplace.
Within five months of launching, we received global press coverage that brought us unexpected attention. The day the article was published, we woke up to over 300 orders in our inbox, and they kept coming for weeks. This overwhelming response proved a few key things. First, people were indeed willing to purchase second-life contract office furniture sight unseen, validating our initial concept.
What truly surprised us was the response from sellers. Companies worldwide reached out, eager to sell their furniture through our platform. This was fantastic news—or so we thought. The challenge? None of these companies had a clear inventory of their furniture. Without this information, it was nearly impossible to leverage the existing furniture, despite its significant value.
This challenge highlighted a critical insight: it all starts at the beginning. To create a successful and sustainable marketplace, we needed to go beyond just connecting buyers and sellers. We had to develop an intuitive inventory management platform that would seamlessly connect to our circular marketplace. This way, every piece of furniture would be accounted for and could efficiently find a new home.
This realization has shaped the future of our company. We’re now focused on integrating robust inventory management solutions that enable companies to catalog their furniture effortlessly. In doing so, we’re not just facilitating transactions; we’re promoting sustainability by ensuring valuable office furniture gets a second life.
The challenges with furniture is the cost of moving and the storage of it. So, the concept is great.

We connected with Reseat to see what the future holds for Reseat ID:
In the next several months we are looking to add the REPAIR button which will have warranty information connected to each product so that customers can easily find out if their product is still under warranty or not.
